Yeah, I had someone honk before I even had time to move my foot from the brake the gas pedal. Then they proceeded to ride my **** and stop obnoxiously close to me at the neighborhood stop signs. I saw them turn into their driveway before I turned on my street, and it was one of my neighbors' sons. The next time he saw me he apologized and said he thought I was someone who was harassing him earlier. I really don't think that was the case, but I bet he'll remember what my car looks like now!

I just wave to them!

Yes, and I told him to be careful because you never know who is in the other car(could be a neighbor ), or how they will react.

This is the only country that doesn't use their horn. And the only country that is offended when someone honks at them.

People are pretty rude drivers around here for sure. I got honked at because I stopped before taking a right on red. I have also, like you, been honked at for waiting for a pedestrian to cross.

Once, when I stopped for a school crossing, I was honked at & person sped up to go around me. I leaned on the horn as he almost hit a kid.
He slammed on his breaks, only pray he'll think before repeating that maneuver.🙏

I don't go immediately either. Too many red light runners. I say let them honk.

Donnawisdom : What I do, instead of automatically default waiting, is use my eyes to look in the direction of those who previously had a green light, and if I don't see anyone advancing quickly toward the intersection, then I can go immediately, instead of making everyone behind me wait and miss catching green lights further along. Defensive driving is good, but that doesn't mean we stop using our senses and go 10 miles under the speed limit, as if either of those somehow increases our safety whilst driving.
