Wild grape people It looks like it's going to be a great year for muscadines. Our vines around Kingwood and at my place in Buffalo are loaded. The mustang grape crop is really good this year too. The ones I have harvested are super sour as usual. Muscadines will be ready in a few weeks.

buffaloglenn : I've not had those since I was a kid. We used to eat muscadines all the time. 
buffaloglenn : Are you making wine or jellies with them?
donnatella : I've made wine before with them, which is a lot of work but it turned out pretty good. Now I just make jelly and eat some straight off the vine. Not a lot of jelly because it probably takes me a year to eat a jar. 
buffaloglenn : We have a blackberry vine that is producing almost more than we can handle. DH brings in big bowlfuls several times a week. Waiting for The Boy to come in from Boston next week to make his "healthy" cobbler with some of them. The rest are going in the freezer, as long as we have room.

buffaloglenn : They have a certain pungent funk to them that I just don't like. My dad used to make juice and jam from them, and he also made mayhaw jelly.
