Teen Take Over With Hundreds Showing Up.

I just read some reports about this. People are concerned it might be giving the wrong impression about Houston....to people here for the World Cup....uh, ya think? Don't really care what the out of towners think...how about the people who live here?? I saw videos of businesses locking their doors, cars having to back up because people were fighting right in front of their vehicle in the road. Don't believe that parents don't know their teens are at these events.

They should ticket the parents of everyone arrested or better yet, make them spend the night in jail.

I say start sending a fine to Parents and maybe they will keep better tabs on kids!

My husband had a 9 pm curfew for our boys. Even church stuff. Good thing I was a parent volunteer.
I'm sure they still did some stuff they shouldn't. But 40 years ago we knew a lot of people in Kingwood and he would remind them of that.
Being in public service he saw it all.

One news cast reported many were not from Houston. I just caught tail end of it though.

MissAmericanPie : I agree, but as we've often discussed here, no license is required to be a parent. I remember meeting a bunch of parents moving to Kingwood from the New Orleans area, and the parents had very different ideas on parenting than we did.

Downtown businesses are blaming the teen takeover for lack of traffic. I disagree. I really think it has to do with their location. The football stadium isn't really centrally located like Toyota Center and Daiken Park. People going to the World Cup are most like staying closer to the Southside of Houston.

At least 600 people, multiple gunshots, and HPD detained a whopping TWO people?! That's why they're such a joke of a police department. They need to do better.
