We've always had ours repaired asap until DD started getting multiple chips in her windshield. AutoZone sells a windshield repair kit for about $15ish and DH has used it twice to fix rock chips on her car. You'd never know they were there and it looks good as new. If it happens to one of our vehicles again, he'll probably just do that on it.

I'm amazed at how they can make it almost invisible; mine is a tiny 'star' visible from only certain angles, in the sun.
#msg5940388Heathur : Same here - $15 kit from autozone or o'reilly to fix it right away. Still have the original windshield on my 2005 pickup. No cracks / no visible chips.
There is a limit to what the can "repair".
If it's bigger than a quarter and longer than a dollar, they won't do it.
We got hit by rock twice.
One length wise, one sideways.
The problem is that they are one inch from meeting up, then the windshield is no longer safe.
So we are looking for someone other than satellite.
They did a bad job last time.
Anyone know of a decent windshield replacement company?

There's a guy on the south bound feeder of 45 just south of 99. Klearstar rock chip and firewood. He won't take credit cards. Cash only. Been there forever. Does amazing job with really bad damage.
