Ruger5 : but the parents are the ones purchasing these bikes. So why don't they stop buying them? Seems simple enough, right?

Gammyof2 : You would absolutely think so. I'm completely baffled. There will be littles who die directly because of these dangerous high powered scooters. I twitch just thinking about teenagers in cars sharing the roadways with these scooters come summertime. We see how many are on the roads now……wait til after Christmas. Oh boy. This is going to be a dangerous summer.

I'm not judging parents, but I sure am questioning their Commonsense. My heart hurts for the parents of that little kid who was just killed driving to school on one last week. You know they wish they'd just said no.

e : At stinks…….kids DO **** up, absolutely, so we don't hand them keys to a motorized vehicle with a dont eff up caution…..because it's a given they WILL eff up …..and that kind of **** up could get em killed.

There's a reason it's against the law for kids under the age of at least 16 to be on motorized vehicles of any kind…..they lack the maturity to manage the kind of danger that comes with sharing the roadways with moving tanks. We can start with banning them on school property during school hours. AT A MINIMUM.

It doesn't address the problem as a whole, and I'm gonna go out on a limb here and betcha money there comes a time we see a nationwide anti scooter movement brought about by parents who have suffered the devastating loss of a child.

#msg5923013Ruger5 : Driving a bike, bicycle on a street, or road, is very risky where cars are concerned...in a confrontation, the steel is going to prevail. I for one would find it absolutely tragic to hit a child...or any person. Doesn't matter whose fault it may be, any injury or death would be awful...don't ever want to go there. We have to do better. I used to tell my kids about going to ruckus parties, etc.... that "if you aren't there, you can't get in trouble there". No one wants to see anyone get hurt, injured...or worse. Hoping for a safe and speedy solution to this important issue.

Fireba11 : Agreed. At least with peddle bikes third graders aren't gonna be sharing the thoroughfares with cars. These kids on scooters are driving on Kingwood drive for crissakes.

I take solace in realizing that every parent who witnesses this have had their eyes opened. They've been warned.

#msg5922911MissAmericanPie : I don't accept your premise. Parents DO teach their kids. Every parents here on KDC would say they taught their kids. So what's the answer? Some times kids **** up. So we all need to watch out for them. That's what I've been saying to you and everyone else who's disagreed with me. Hows that for being wrong?

StinksMcNulty : Bc you have no idea if these kids who are out riding have been instructed. Most People here discussing don't have kids that age and never faced this dangerous trend.

Over by deerbrook mall. 1960 has bridge that overpasses 59. Traveling east on 1960 was a guy riding what appeared to be a e-bike. I was just kringing when the light turned green. I'm sure he was on the downside of the overpass and just hoped the aggressive drivers didn't run him over. Two wrongs means someone could get hurt.
