GiggleMugs :
Looks like the bike she was riding was illegal. The thing is, if the parents don't buy them, the kids don't have them to ride.

#msg5920498StinksMcNulty : I think the main issue is a higher speed, and maybe less control. Not sure how much of an issue it really is...I wonder when we'll start getting stats about eBike injuries...

Joe : Maybe it's just me. I don't see higher speed or less control. I used to haul *** on my bike. Much faster than e-bikes or scooters. No one said anything.

#msg5920497StinksMcNulty : Oh just stop it. You are one of only two that I've seen who doesn't see the danger in 8 and 9 year olds sharing Kingwood Dr with 6 ton chunks of steel. You know better.

Ruger5 : Rhetoric much? They aren't "6 ton chunks of steel ". They're cars. They have drivers. Give me a break.

StinksMcNulty : oh I would love to give you a break hee hee. Still trying to wrap my head around you not thinking these things aren't dangerous.. you may have haul assed on your bicycle, but I guarantee weren't doing it in the middle of Kingwood Dr., Sandwiched between other vehicles . you actually think it's OK for third graders to be sharing Kingwood Drive with multiple ton chunks of steel. #msg5920539I see ebikes on WLH PKWY going through the turn in at the Y everyday and never look for cars. And since they all wear black clothes and hoodies it's hard to see them crossing back and forth in the shade in the Town Center area.. It's only a matter of time.

billcherie2 : Why isn't HPD pulling these kids over? I haven't seen one cop light up any of these kids riding down the middle of the street. Granted they probably don't want to get schooled by an 8 year old in a chase but a few Come to Jesus meetings with these kids and maybe some parents would keep this activity in check.

One on an electric bike shot out in front of someone I knew and they tapped them. It will require some poor kid to die before they really address it.

#msg5920668StinksMcNulty : If they are riding on the main arteries in the community (like KW drive, Lake Houston, Woodland Hills and Northpark, no....they are a hazard.

SpaceCat : This seems like a lot of Get Off My Lawn to me. The parents already told them where and how to use them i bet. From there, it's just kids being kids. We all just have to watch out.
