My sister is considering Darst Funeral Home, Kingwood Funeral Home, and Brookside for pre need planning for burial, not cremation. Brookside as served our family needs well however we have no experience with Darst or Kingwood funeral homes. Any recommendations?

Brookside is not who/what they used to be. A friend used them last year, and there were multiple issues. His family had used Brookside for decades and felt it was not of the same quality.
I have used Kingwood Funeral several times. We had a great experience with them. They don't sell you stuff you don't need.

Thank you. Personal experience speaks. I have attended funerals at Kingwood but worked with them.

I had a very positive experience with Darst.
We went with Darst for both my mom and my brother. Both were a very good experience. Heard also good things about McNutt in Conroe. Not 100% certain if the spelling is correct on the second.

I recently went to a memorial service at Kingwood funeral home. It was well done, facilities are very nice, staff was attentive. They had a catered lunch after the service. Not sure how costs compare and the body had been cremated.

We have mausoleum drawers at Brookside where everyone in my hubs family is at but I have been to other services there in the last year and was not impressed. I called both Kingwood and Rosewood and they indicated you could have services at their places and then have ashes taken to Brookside which is probably what we will do.

I had experience with Kingwood funeral home recently. They are woman managed and their attention to detail and care were a godsend. They have a beautiful room for the service, a wonderful sound system, and a side suite for the reception. They have very nice packages that I thought were reasonable that included everything that was needed.
