I was really expecting restoration yesterday until I saw that the number of outages is small compared to other locations.

StormChaser : I sure hope that Centerpoint gets you back on today. Are you using your generator intermittently, so have internet service with your modem and router temporarily powered, then off again while you give the generator a break? I got a $100 UPS which powers my modem and router for a couple hours. May be worth a consideration.

New2Texas : The grid hasn't gone down, except for the 100 mph wind that blew over a high voltage tower on 290. Centerpoint is working to restore power to hundreds of thousands of customers, just like every utility in the country does after the kind of weather we had this week.

StormChaser : Darn - our Tachus stayed on through the outage, so it worked either on the battery backup or generator power. Yeah, 4G or 5G is almost worthless during a power outage. On my phone, it doesn't look like the outage map is working right now. I'll check on my PC.

StormChaser : On my PC, outage tracker doesn't show anything, not even the summary stats.

Kingwood library is open today 10am-5pm. Cool and free internet. Even after it closes, you can still get the free internet outside the building but the mosquitoes will kill you. Kingwood community center is open today. See another post from Fred Flickinger comments on hours. It will be cool but I don't know about internet. Starbucks is cool and has internet. And you don't have to buy anything. Get out and go somewhere. You need the break from the house and dark and heat. We were without power for 2 weeks after Ike. I hope they fix your power sooner than that!
