Carol's Sons Hearing Just wanted to let y'all know he was convicted and sentenced on March 21st. Wish I had looked sooner so I could be there. 40 years.
I miss her- and I'm glad he will be in prison for a while- maybe not long enough for us but he's not running loose 😢

Am I correct in remembering he had some mental issues?

Montgomery County Homicide and Violent Crimes Detectives have arrested the son of the Porter murder victim Carol Kuykendall. Michael Scott Kuykendall, age 37, of 25187 Twin Oaks in New Caney, has been booked into the Montgomery County Jail on a charge of murder. A bond has not yet been set. This is not his first arrest in Montgomery or Harris County.
On August 31, 2017, he was arrested in Montgomery County assaulting family violence after striking his wife. On that charge, he was given one-year probation and a $2000 fine on December 4, 2017.
I just looked it up and finished reading it. He was an extremely troubled person, wrecking his life, and ultimately, his mother's life, with horrible drugs. With such an extensive criminal record I'm surprised he was even on the streets.
Revolving door criminals need to be dealt with differently. Does anyone here still communicate with her daughter? I wonder how she and the grandchildren are doing. Such heartache.

On that charge, he was given one-year probation and a $2000 fine on December 4, 2017. The probation didn't last long as a motion to revoke probation was filed on April 12, 2018, in County Court One after he tested positive for meth on December 4, 2017 (the same day he was given probation), January 2, 2018, January 26, 2018, February 22, 2018, and March 19, 2018. He also failed to attend substance abuse classes and failed to pay his fine for the previous 3 months. His probation was then reinstated for the second time. But on May 2, 2018, he was arrested again after he tested positive for meth, marijuana, and amphetamines on April 13, 2018. Again his probation was reinstated a third time. On June 14, 2018, it was again revoked after he tested positive for failing to submit to a urinalysis on May 24, 2018, and on June 7, 2018, and failing to report to probation. The probation was reinstated a fourth time until July 25, 2018, when it was again revoked after he failed to provide a urinalysis on July 20, 2018, and again failed to report to probation. Again the probation was reinstated a fifth time and again revoked on August 31, 2018, after again failing to submit to a urinalysis on August 22, 2018, and failing to report to probation. It was reinstated a sixth time but revoked on November 1, 2018, for again not reporting to probation in September and failing to submit to a urinalysis on October 2, 2018. In addition, he had paid any of his court-ordered fees since he had been put on probation 11 months prior. With his seventh motion to revoke the judge revoked it and sentenced him to 100 days in the Montgomery County Jail on November 2, 2018. Then on October 16, 2022, he was again arrested on a new charge of assault causing bodily injury/family violence for again striking his wife and another female. He was also charged with driving while intoxicated and interfering with an emergency call. He was sentenced to sixty days in the Montgomery County Jail on the DWI charge and one of the two assault charges. All the other charges were dismissed. In addition to this, he was charged with obstruction and retaliation after threatening assault and sexual assault to an arresting officer. This charge was also dismissed. He also had an extensive history with the Harris County Court System. He was charged on July 19, 2004, for criminal mischief over $500 after kicking a female's vehicle and damaging it. He was sentenced to 4 days in the Harris County Jail. During the time waiting for court, he was arrested on August 31, 2005, for possession of a controlled substance and intoxication assault with a motor vehicle. The possession charge was dismissed and he was given ten years in the Texas Department of Criminal Justice which was probated for ten years. But that probation was revoked and he was sent to TDCJ for five years on September 14, 2007. Part of the revocation was a new charge of assault after kicking a male in the head on April 9, 2006, which gave him a 55 days jail stay in Harris County. On August 26, 2007, he was arrested by Humble Police on a charge of felony credit card abuse and a drug charge he was given 180 days in State Jail which ran concurrently with the intox assault sentence. On April April 27, 2011, he threatened a witness who reported him being involved in a crime with murder. Kuykendall was by Humble Police for retaliation and sentenced to one year in State Jail on October 3, 2011. On December 20, 2012, he was arrested by Harris County Precinct 4 Constables for a felon in possession of a firearm. The judge, in that case, gave him 220 days in the Harris County Jail on March 14, 2013, with 84 days credit. On July 5, 2013, Kuykendall was charged with arson after setting a building at 18802 Timbers Drive in Humble on fire. The Harris County District Attorney dropped it to a State Jail Felony and he was given 8 months State Jail time on April 4, 2015. On May 5, 2017, Kuykendall was charged after he was found to be under the influence of Amphetamines, Methamphetamines, and Cannabis and his Jeep Cherokee struck another vehicle head-on after he crossed the center line in the 33500 block of Huffman Cleveland Road. The crash was serious enough that both Kuykendall and the victim he struck had to be Life Flighted. The female struck suffered multiple fractures of her extremities and still has issues to this day walking. As he continued through the court process he was arrested by Harris County Precinct 4 Constables for unauthorized use of a motor vehicle on January 7, 2019. On November 17, 2022, he was given five years in the Texas Department of Criminal Justice which was probated for two years. In addition, the intoxication assault that damaged the young lady for life was dismissed.
