@Wiseowl : Thank you very much. And yes! He says he sees flashes too. I cannot be in his head to describe what is going on, but at least the optometrist, and ophthalmologist both say his eye health is great. Of course that makes me feel better, but I still hate that he sees those odd things. Must be bothersome....
@StaggerLee : All of his blood work came back great. I am not familiar with them myself, but I would think they would be a little scary/bothersome from what I've heard....
@Jonn : Yep! He isn't going into youth football, or middle school season anymore, it's high school! ..so eating right is going to be so important. He has gained a bunch of muscle already this summer....it's crazy how a 14 year old boy can transform into looking like a man over a summer!...
@Donnawisdom : Don't keep beating yourself up over the oral crap you have. I used to have the prettiest teeth, but things happen. I still have nice teeth even though one or two may have had to be crowned support, but that doesn't mean they are ugly. I know how devastating it is to loose a tooth, or maybe more, but at least there are fixes out there. This doesn't mean you haven't take care of what you were born with at all. Try to be happy that your smile is getting fixed; some people will never ha...
@beadweaver : I reminded him Friday, and again today, that if he ever does not want to play a certain sport to just talk to us about it. I will never force either of my kiddos to continue to do something they don't love. That being said; I also won't allow laziness and just giving up either, so they would need to try to replace one thing with another that fits. He was adamant that sports are his passion, and he is so happy to get back at it tomorrow. I am just so dang happy we don't have a medical con...
@RaggedyAnn : Yes girl! He had to stop his strengthening and conditioning last week until he got the clearance. I think I am going to email the coach that heads this and let him know what's going on....rather than him thinking he just took a break for several days. Even though this is something we paid for and completely voluntary; I don't want anyone to think he was just being lazy and not showing up....
@Johnsonville : So sweet!!!! I wonder where the dog came from? We have had one here at work for the past couple of weeks, while her pet parents are getting remolding done. I just came in a bit ago after taking my son to the Dr. and it's like she smelled her way to me to get rubbed since I wasn't here early. I hear her whining on her way. gets to me and rolls over! lol So sweet....
UPDATE on my son
I took him to the ophthalmologist Friday to see about the floaters and lights he has in his eyes. The Dr. said he has perfect vision, and everything in his eyes looks to be normal. Some people just get them, and they eventually go away, or they get so used to them, they aren't as noticeable. So happy. This morning was the big one....Cardiologist. They first did and EKG, and that looked normal, but because she could hear a murmur, she wanted to also do an ultrasound. Well, it came b...
