#msg6036512Rapsalot : why are you trying to turn this into a race issue instead of a law issue?
Perhaps it's both. Issues can be more than one thing just as much as people etc. Historically, US immigration policy explicitly favored white folks through racial exclusions and national quotas until the law changed back in 1965 to get rid of all that. Now the policy is officially "colorblind" and bans explicit racial or ethnic preferences, focusing instead on family reunions and job skills. But the system still ends up with pretty racial disparities... mostly because of heavy border enforcement, selective refugee rules, and per country caps that cause crazy multi decade wait times for people from non European nations. Take the current refugee policy in place. The current refugee program is essentially shut down for non white refugees globally, while white South Africans (Afrikaners) have been given an exclusive, fast-tracked pathway. That seems to be something that involves a race specific form of immagration and law/policy.
#msg6036524BooBear : Many people need to hear that. Pleae keep spreading the news. You wouldn't like m. I am serious PRN.

Please use @ everyone sparingly - like, for a notice or update that everyone in the conversation should be aware of. Don't use it in normal political debate back and forth with another member.

Noted. That one was unintended actually. Carried over from something else I was typing and apparently didn't discard the draft.
I have a serious questoon. What was wrong with the Gang of 8 compromise the Senate approved and Obama pledged to sign.
Oh, what type of enchilada.

#msg6036542Sophos3 : that is about our legal immigration policies, that is a different conversation than talking about people showing up at our borders and demanding to be let in.
It's a factor in the discussion. If legal pathways are structured against people entering legally, is that not a possible cause for a rise in illegal entries? That, and why are we so concerned now about border crossings? From what I have been led to understand, isn't immigration enforcement supposed to be functioning at an advanced rate? We are pouring a record amount of money/resources into it at the moment.
It's not just a problem in USA.
My relatives live in country that has these caravans passing thru locality too.
Same issue we have. Same disruptions of "normal". Thankfully the government there tries to "hurry them along" (out of town & out of country).
Country does work with our government (security) at both their borders.

There are serious migration discussions going on all over the world. Even in the US. The lack of seriousness from politicians and pandering news organizations keep the voting public in the bunkers of disinformation they prefer to cower in.
