We have taught politicians, especially in the last few years, that they'll be rewarded for trafficking in pig crap. Consequently, there is no low. No lines that should not be crossed. To be dignified is to be "woke". Accordingly, we are reaping what we have sowed.
Kalena, WWdiver and sebastian2 + 3 more reacted I hope that ad backfires. I was not aware of her (Acton) background, and this ad is disgusting. I'm surprised Vivek would not take it off. He must be desperate.
#msg6035488Disgusting what they do now hoping for a win!

Politics has gotten so vile. Both sides engage in it though. Troy Jackson telling Susan Collins to "shut up" at a Maine debate.
Some young man was acting up at a rally and Collins said : ""So this is obviously one of Troy's supporters."

How awful he would stoop that.low. The Mom sided with the Dad! Even when he fled. Waht and awful life she had! I so hope this backfires on him.
SwedeinTX reacted Mudslinging in politics if you will, is as old as the Republic itself. However, there was a time where certain societal boundaries were not crossed. In other words, a modicum of human decency. But as I said, we have allowed politicians to increasingly move the goalpost as to what's considered acceptable against one's political rival.
Ramaswamy admits his campaign is behind attack ad using Acton's estranged mother and plans to air it
Story by Jeremy Pelzer, cleveland.com • COLUMBUS, Ohio-Republican gubernatorial nominee Vivek Ramaswamy acknowledged Tuesday night that a controversial ad featuring Amy Acton's estranged mother came from his campaign, which is now launching a multimillion-dollar ad campaign behind it in the race's final weeks. It's a risky doubling-down by the Columbus-area Republican on the intensely personal attack ad, in which Donna Arthur accuses her daughter of lying about her traumatic childhood in Youngstown, including spending a winter in a campground tent and being raped by her stepfather. A video of the Arthur ad, recorded from a political message-testing survey, surfaced online late Monday, creating a nationwide uproar from members of both parties. However, it wasn't clear that Ramaswamy's campaign produced the ad until he confirmed it to reporters following a campaign event in suburban Columbus. Ramaswamy said Arthur wasn't paid to appear in the ad, which he justified by accusing Acton of spreading unspecified "lies" about him and his family, as well as refusing to debate him. "I would love for this race in this election to be about the substantive issues that impact Ohioans," Ramaswamy said, according to a Columbus Dispatch video. "And unfortunately, Amy Acton has been hiding from those issues." and remember...he wants to be president too....

#msg6035649Cbear : Mudslinging in politics if you will, is as old as the Republic itself. However, there was a time where certain societal boundaries were not crossed. In other words, a modicum of human decency. But as I said, we have allowed politicians to increasingly move the goalpost as to what's considered acceptable against one's political rival. Using Acton's mother, whom she hasn't spoken to in decades, is beneath the ground low. Politicians tend to be copycats. So, they surmise disgusting behavior worked for this candidate for office Why not me?

'Stop whining': Vance dismisses Republican criticism of Ramaswamy ad Vice President JD Vance dismissed criticism over a controversial ad from Ohio GOP gubernatorial candidate Vivek Ramaswamy's campaign on Wednesday, slamming Republicans for appearing to care more about playing nice than winning elections. "I have to admit that I'm a little bit disgusted when I see Republicans across the country who are whining more about that advertisement than they are about what the congressional Democrats and other Democrats want to do to the United States of America," Vance said at a press conference ahead of a campaign event with Ramaswamy and Ohio Sen.
