Not really. To me, anyone who intentionally chooses to witness a death is driven by pure morbidity. Having seen death firsthand, I know that if it doesn't leave you with a permanent feeling of 'no thank you,' you need to seek help. Witnessing more death will never fill the void left by a lost loved one. It might offer a temporary band-aid for an hour or a day, but it won't last. And that's only speaking for the victims' families and friends. What purpose does it serve for everyone else? Is the rest of the world just morbidly curious to watch a body collapse like a marionette with its strings cut, stripped of all movie magic? I mean there's a reason everyone is given live rounds in a firing squad and one is given a dummy cartridge, it's to alleviate the feeling of guilt that happens whether you want it or not.
