Does anyone have any experience with trying Puppuccinos of Pup-Cups? The vet said it would be a good idea with Lady's fear of leaving the house in a car to just take a daily trip and get her one and come right back home to increase her sense of this is home and she will keep coming back. Hoping it might help with the anxiety she feels when we put her in the car.

Our dogs loved them but had to stop because one was diagnosed as diabetic.

Jeepinbear :
Always done this with all my pups... Toss treats in the back seat too when loading them and an occasional treat while driving is fun too...

I'd also recommend some fun trips to Petco or similar just for socialization. Great rainy day activity...

That's hard, we have a cat that is diabetic and have to go through the same thing but he is so much better since we got it worked out with the right dose of insulin.

Jeepinbear : Snowball is on a first name basis with Sonic and their pup cups. DH also takes him to Dutch Bros and Starbucks. Some places will also give dog biscuits. We had one chicken place out of town actually give him two chicken strips!

You can just give her a little treat of some kind every time you put her in the car ,and every time you take her out. This is just conditioning ,and making it a positive experience. you can do it with a treat or two out of a bag that you buy at pet ranch that, will do the same thing as going all the way and waiting in line, for a pup cup.

My dogs love pup cups. They get disappointed if Starbucks doesn't give us one! ; )

Also, some words of encouragement: Our dog Moy was absolutely terrified of the car when we first adopted him...he would shake, and do this weird drooling thing, where he'd drool into the cup holder...enough to make a little pool of slobber!...Anyway...now he absolutely loves car rides more than anything. So, pups can change over time!

Every time I take my pup to the vet, I go to Starbucks to treat us both. But I wait until I get home outside on the patio before I offer up the beloved Pup Cup! Not in the car. He's all excited, wide-eyed, tongue lapping air until he gets it.
