Son just saw a Puma/Cougar! My son was at his girlfriend's place this lovely Friday morning (off Hamblen Road) and saw a Puma/Cougar. It was just outside her deck about 10-15 feet away walking through the woods that back up to her deck. Said it was a 120-150 pound cat, definitely bigger than him. He went to get his drone so he could try and track it through the woods but couldn't find it. Trees to dense…Watch out if you are in Forest Cove area…

sfa1tx : Sure it wasn't a bobcat? We have had several people including me see one on the Greenbelt in Sand Creek.
bigla : I've seen one in the Greentree/Sandcreek area...probably the same one. It is such a beautiful animal!
sfa1tx : Didn't that area used to be called Black Cat Ridge? Or is that somewhere else nearby?
I saw an elephant behind HEB yesterday. He was out in that grassy area

LittleTexas : Bobcats don't weigh 120 lbs. as original poster stated. The area that they are in actually does have native cougars and is/was known as Black Cat Junction.
sfa1tx : Here is the number of confirmed sightings by texas dept of wildlife for the last 10 years. Not a single one with in 250 miles, in over 10 years in this area. Bobcat is what he saw.
