First we all complain kids aren't outside playing. Then we complained that kids are being coddled and aren't learning lessons the hard way.Now we're complaining kids are outside and we're not coddling them enough.

whereami : Has nothing to do with coddling. Being outside is one thing but being outside and not being a nuisance is another.

They should all be made to take some sort of safety class. Where are the organizations that used to promote bike safety? Has that been cut from the budget? When I was younger, first responders taught the class. There were sign-ups, or they came to the school.

eighteen : I seem to remember someone coming out to talk us about bike safety when I was a child. I still remember how full our bike racks were back then because a lot of us rode our bikes to school back then or we walked.

I have seen something very familiar, children not over 12 for sure most likely 9 or 10 riding a 4wheeler right here in my neighborhood going pretty fast also and give me a look like you sorry stupid old lady, I can do this if I want to. I always wish a sheriff would be cruising the streets when this happens but sadly no law enforcement in sight.

It definitely starts with the parents. I watch golf carts etc. drive down the greenbelt after dusk nightly. Then here come the Sunday morning spandex bike riders. If we don't follow the rules they will eventually be enforced.

These are accidents waiting to happen! So fortunate the HEB accident wasn't much worse!! Im so afraid there is going going to be an accident that will be devastating. Kids at red lights and cross walks are scary. Many dont stop or even look. What's it going to take to get real restrictions and education for these vehicles??!!

Kids riding motorized scooters is not outside playing. They get no exercise doing that. What's wrong with a bicycle?

Let's take the "who is to blame " out of the picture and everyone focus and drive carefully. 😳

MegB : We ARE trying to be aware and be careful. But if the parents dont parent .....
Accountability is hard pill for some parents to swallow.

Let's be fair. The way ADULTS drive in the HEB parking is the liability. Not necessarily the teens.

These parking lots are private property, not city enforced roadways. It's up to the property owners to establish regulations.
