cbear : Beryl was kind of a surprise. I thought it was going to be a little tropical storm. Our power was out for what felt like forever!

cbear : I worked...a Lot, during Beryl. Just remember it as a lot of quick meals and little sleep.

cbear : That's one anniversary I won't be celebrating. What a mess that whole thing was. Thank goodness for our generator.
CaffeineFree : Amen! I soooo wish I had pulled the trigger and purchased a Generac. At the time, it was 11K ( more now). I thought...."Hmmm, that would buy alot of hotel rooms." I do regret.

cbear : I was kinda caviler about that storm. Totally thought it was going to pass us by... So these are the hurricane supplies I bought the day before 😂 Oops - we were without power for well over a week. Never got to eat the ice cream 😥

cbear : It's strange how time flies, it doesn't seem like it was two years ago. For some reason it feels like that also happened last year. We were also without power for about 10 days, had a couple of trees come down, one on our property, and I saw a pine come down on my neighbor's house. It was wild, and scary, and I don't know if we knew at the time how bad it was going to be. I'm truly hoping for another quiet hurricane season this year.
CatalinaD : Same. I had my fence lean over quite a bit. Neighbor and I propped it up. 8 days without power..ugh. Thanks for the coins.

cbear : We were blessed with no structural damage. No power for 10-12 days (I don't remember exact number). Thankfully we have a Generac.

It was my wife and I's anniversary so we went to New York for a couple of days. My parents were home with our kids. Tried to get home ASAP but IAH was a mess... Ended up flying back to San Antonio on the 8th. They were all rattled but luckily damage to the house was minimal (small branch punctured the roof in one spot and another tore off a gutter). The generator was on for a week straight. I felt very fortunate. Two houses in our street had pine trees destroy their roof.

cbear : 10 days for some of us. I had just moved here from the Gulf coast, and though OH LORD, what did I do?? I thought I'd left hurricanes behind.
