I have never seen school pickup lines in the streets like they are here. Why don't they put a lane in specifically for them?
Kittle, HappyDay2016 and SpaceCat reacted I don't understand parents not finding a pick up spot away from the chaos. Luckily it wasn't an issue for us. I live around the corner from an elementary school and told my kids they will be one of the last to be picked up on rainy day dismissals. The line wrapped past my street.
not a bad idea, but there would be Soccer Moms pulling out each others' hair extensions.."fiiiight!"

no room on the roads in KW for this separate lane, as they are, in most school areas

but those with signs would have to be volunteers, and I do not know that they have sufficient crossing guards, and those who can make a commitment to every school day and event
they are usually getting the kids to their parents, and then getting last minute things done in their classroom, after the kids leave. I taught for a few years, and rarely left school less than 45 minutes after school was out, with all I had to get done, before heading home. It would be nice if the school taxes could fund salaries for crossing guards; it would just be a part time job, and shouldn;t be That expensive?
#msg5932003Why do so many parents pick up their kids? They blocks the roads and create frustration and bottlenecks. Why don't kids walk home anymore, or ride their bikes?
