Homeschooling Does anyone here have kids that homeschool in KW/Humble ISD? I think we have a few regulars that do but I'm blanking on names. We have 2 years left and we're completely over it. It's a very long story. Bottom line is - I don't feel like my child is being protected. 😒 With that said, we are looking to join a Co-Op in Kingwood & I'm looking for areas to start that research. I've joined a few groups on social media but I figured I'd ask here as well. If you can point me in any direction, I'd greatly appreciate it! Thanks.

Do you mean protected as in physically protected? That is a very scary thought.
There's a few local Facebook homeschool groups you can join
Woodridge Baptist Church has a large homeschooling community. I'm sure if you call the office they can hook you up with moms that have children your daughter's age. I know they have sports teams, clubs and dances within the community. Good luck! Wish I had gone that route when my son was 14, but I didn't have any resources.

You can always reach out to your school counselor for homeschooling information

@StirmChaser: My DD graduated through Heart. They did a school yearbook and a senior prom. I think you had to join a year or two before graduation year.
Look into dual credits through Lonestar also.

There's Home Run ministry that is based out of Kingwood Bible Church
And one that may still be at Calvary I think it was called Classical Conversations.
I think these offered teaching and extra activities.

Our oldest graduated from Kingwood High School and our youngest graduates next year. It's been a great experience for both of them and we're very happy with the path they are on. That said, my wife and I recently attended graduation for my cousin's son, who was in a Classical Conversations program in central Texas. Wow--it was very impressive! Especially for such a small group (8 students in the graduating class). I would definitely take a look if you are considering a home-school situation. There were great programs and they took educational trips, went to the theatrical productions, etc. A surprisingly well-rounded experience. Half of the kids are going on to college, half are starting businesses of various types.

I don't have any personal, local recommendations but I wish for Good Luck and Success on your search. I have some friends that did homeschooling for their children, but they don't live here in Kingwood. They loved that option, and it really worked out well for the kids.
