Municipal Court Clerk Job Description
Performs routine clerical, secretarial and administrative work in answering phones, assisting the public regarding citations.
• Responsible for receiving inquiries, answering questions from the public, defendants, officers, attorneys, judges and prosecutors.
• Responsible for all clerical work for the court, document preparation and processing, document accuracy and completion.
• Responsible for managing the record keeping system of the court, date entry of citations, preparing and filing of complaints, preparing court summons and maintaining docket assignments.
• Responsible for docket setting, assignment, preparation and correspondence with court staff.
• Responsible for receiving/posting payments at window, processing/posting electronic payments and preparing Daily Cash Reports.
• Responsible for making determinations of defendant eligibility for deferred disposition or driver safety course, process requests and maintain subsequent records.
• Responsible for the preparation and maintenance of all defendant payment arrangements.
• Responsible for the preparation of warrants as needed, and the transmission of warrant information to OMNI & AMS.
• Responsible for all correspondence and requests for records. Other duties may be assigned.
Building Permit Clerk Job Description:
Performs routine clerical, secretarial and administrative work in answering phones, assisting the public in obtaining building permits.
• Responsible for receiving the public and answering questions; responding to inquiries from citizens, and others, and refers, when necessary, to appropriate persons.
• Responsible for assisting and counseling the general public and contractors in applying for building permits and answer questions about the permits process.
• Responsible for receiving building permit plans, applications and supporting documents.
• Responsible for document and general plan review for compliance with codes adopted by the city, the verification of contractor license information and the calculation of building permit fees.
• Responsible for the preparation of permit documents for submission to Bureau Veritas plan review.
• Responsible for issuing building permits, collecting applicable fees, issuing signage, monitoring permit status, recommending deposit release and issuing certificates of occupancy.
• Responsible for knowledge of codes adopted by the city, code compliance, all correspondence and requests for records. Other duties may be assigned.
