*Main Purpose and Scope of Job*
The role of this position is to help customers locate and buy goods by listening to their purchasing goals and making recommendations based on the available merchandise. It is also to provide coverage for the store while the owner is offsite which includes opening and closing procedures. *Duties and Key Responsibilities*
-Arrive to the store with enough time to be ready for the first customer of the day by 10am.
-Greet customers as they enter the store, making them feel welcome without overdosing them on cheeriness (think Southern hospitality).
-Listen to customers to gain a thorough understanding of what they need or what they are looking for.
-Answer any questions the customers may have and for any that you are unsure how to answer, take down their name, phone number and question and leave it for the owner.
-Provide exemplary customer service throughout the shift, helping customers as needed and demonstrating our company culture.
-Process sales transactions, handle cash, process credit/debit cards and process returns.
-Examine the sales floor when the opportunity presents itself to ensure merchandise is well-stocked, well-maintained, and properly priced.
-Perform general janitorial duties weekly which consists of sweeping, dusting and keeping the restroom and break area clean and straight.
-Complete inventory counts when requested by the owner.
-Register for, if needed, and complete provided training courses without supervision
-Lead with professionalism when dealing with vendors.
-Always be presentable to promote the company’s message of health & well-being.
-No smoking while at the store.
*Job Skills & Qualifications*
-At least 18 years of age
-Strong interest in holistic healing and/or eco-friendly practices
-2 years of customer service experience involving the use of a Point of Sale system
-Able to apply problem-solving skills to fulfill challenging requests
-Able to perform basic math, writing and reading without supervision
-Able to comfortably stand for extended periods of time
