Financial & Tax Accountant - Kingwood Job

Growing CPA firm based in Northeast Houston is looking for an experienced financial and tax accountant - CPA preferred. The firm focuses on services to businesses and their owners, both locally and overseas.

This job requires preparation and compilation of financial statements for reporting and tax return preparation. The ideal candidate would have experience specifically with accounting for tax prep and tax preparation experience. An extensive knowledge of technical accounting and control procedures is required. This person will prepare and assist with individual, business and other tax returns, payroll, research and other accounting related duties. Must be able to successfully manage multiple assignments, develop quality relationships, identify client needs and service opportunities, and propose solutions as issues arise.

Responsibilities:
• Prepare and examine accounting records, financial statements, taxes, and other financial reports
• Supervise bookkeeping, reconciliations and journal entries
• Develop and analyze reporting for business operations and budgets
• Tax return preparation and document management
• Accounting, tax and business valuation research
• Payroll, payroll taxes and human resources management
• Technical writing
• Financial analysis
• Litigation support assistance (as needed)

Qualifications:
• CPA Preferred
• Minimum 5 years of accounting experience in a public practice
• Fundamental knowledge of GAAP
• QuickBooks experience required
• Detail and deadline-oriented
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills
• Deep knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.) and Adobe tools
• Excellent professional writing and communication skills
• Strong client and team building relationship skills
• Multi-cultural sensitivity

Full or Part-Time.
Remote, work from home. The ideal candidate will live within the Houston metro area.
Salary based on experience.
