SUMMARY:Bird Survey at Mercer Arboretum and Botanic Gardens
DESCRIPTION:Join us for our monthly bird survey in partnership with Houston
Audubon\, led by longtime birder and photographer\, Paul Gregg and Mercer
Education Director\, Christy Jones. Mercer is considered a "Hot Spot" for
birders due to the diverse array of habitats including hundreds of acres
of riparian forest\, open meadows\, a variety of small natural and man-mad
e lakes along the Cypress Creek corridor\, and cultivated garden spaces.\n
This is a beginner friendly and educational birding program. Birders can e
xpect to see year round birds such as cardinals\, bluebirds\, pileated woo
 dpeckers\, and chickadees\, as well as migratory hummingbirds\, warblers\,
kites\, and cuckoos. We even see an occasional bald eagle!\n\nTime as lis
ted: 8am-10am\nCheck the event page for updates. This calendar entry will
