Bear Branch Elementary is excited to announce the first Health and Wellness Fair on Saturday, February 28, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., at Bear Branch Park. The fair is part of the BBEs Fit in February initiative, and is sponsored by Bear Branch PTA, Between the Oaks Organic Farm and Golds Gym. The fair is free to the public, and will include live demonstrations and prizes! Some of the prizes will be fitness memberships, a bike safety basket, kids sports activities just to name a few!

The fair will host local vendors: Vitamins & Such, TSO, The Nutrition Mom, Omni Yoga, Good Cravings, YMCA, Memorial Hermann Sports Medicine, Green Pest Guys, Dr. Kevin Burke, DDS, Clark Chiropractic and Wellness, and many more health-related vendors.

Kayla Price, BBE PTA Healthy Lifestyles Chair said, The Health and Wellness Fair is intended to raise awareness among students and parents of the health-related resources that are available to them in the community. As one of the main goals of PTA is to educate, there will also be a wealth of information available to attendees on various health-related topics, including general wellness, exercise, safety and nutrition. The Bear Branch Elementary PTA Healthy Lifestyles Initiative has sponsored many activities as part of our Fit in February program, including a screening of the documentary Fed Up, student participation in Bridgefest, a trip to Between the Oaks Farm and a family bike ride. The Health and Wellness Fair is the culmination of these efforts, and aspires to inform and encourage the community to prioritize health and wellness in their lives. We hope these activities will help foster dialogs on health and wellness in our community that will continue throughout the rest of the year.

Bear Branch Park is located across the street from Bear Branch Elementary, 3500 Garden Lake Drive, Kingwood, TX 77339. For more information about this family event go to http://www.humbleisd.net/Domain/101.
