Lone Star College and Stephen F. Austin State University announced that they are partnering on an articulation agreement for a Bachelor of Applied Arts and Sciences program.

Officials from both colleges, including LSC Chancellor Stephen C. Head and SFA provost and vice president of academic affairs Dr. Richard Berry, were on hand at LSC-University Park to sign the agreement and officially launch this partnership.

An articulation agreement is a framework between LSC and other institutions to formalize a pathway for easier student transfers from a two-year degree at LSC on to a four-year degree at a university.

Lone Star College is focused on student success, said Head. This program will help more Lone Star College students who want to further their education in these career and technical disciplines.

LSC has agreements with many other universities in Texas and nationwide to create seamless transition from a LSC associate degree to bachelors degrees. For more information go to LoneStar.edu/academic-programs-transfer.htm

This agreement with SFA will benefit LSC students who earn Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degrees in a large number of programs, by allowing them to continue on toward a bachelors degree at SFA.

AAS degrees are often for students seeking credentials for work in a specific industry or career and arent typically designed for transfer to universities. This agreement helps assure that the lower-level courses will easily transfer into the bachelors program at SFA.
