Mixer/Fundraiser on Lake Houston - March 8th (5-7pm) - Kingwood
Published: 02/28/2012 12:01am
Lake Houston Sports and Recreation Foundation, was formed by members of the community, to improve Lake Houston.
Our goals are to mark the channels in the shallow areas of the lake which will make boating much safer for those not familiar with our lake. We also have began the process for an annual fish stocking program that includes improving the habitat for the fish by planting vegetation recommended by Texas Parks and Wildlife.
We have already met and formed a partnership with the parks department and are in the process of getting the permit for the stocking program. We will be stocking the lake with Florida Hybrid bass and according to the parks department stocking technician, these bass will breed with our existing bass which will result in a higher grade of offspring.
We have planned our 1st annual fishing tournament for March 24th (Kid and Pro) and hope to do our first fish release that day. These goals are all attainable with the support of the community which leads me to invite you to our first Mixer/Fundraiser on March 8th to be held at the home of Dave and Taeva Schuller.
The Lake Houston Sports and Recreation Foundation is a 501 C 3 nonprofit organization formed by a group of volunteers, so all donations are tax deductable and 100% of the proceeds will go to improve Lake Houston.
Your support will help us to improve our lake and also help to improve the surrounding community.
Please join us March 8th, 2012 from 5:00 to 7:00 pm for hors d'oeuvers and cocktails. Around 6:00pm, Keynote speaker Mark Webb with the Texas Parks and Wildlife department will be there to explain the stocking program and habitat improvement. The Mixer/Fundraiser will be held at the address below.
