Hamblen Rd will be closed for a while at the train tracks. A small piece of the track came off and caused a train to derail.---------------------------------------UPDATE: 3:30 - Hamblen is now open. It appears that one of the bridge pylons sank into the river, which caused the piece of track to break apart.---------------------------------------There were no injuries reported. A few people on Facebook reported that the bridge had collapsed, but that is not accurate. It is still intact.Union Pacific Railroad Police are investigating, and HPD is diverting car traffic (and water traffic on the San Jacinto) away from the area. Emoticonlease avoid the area, and use Kingwood Dr or Northpark to enter/exit Kingwood. I will update this if anything new is reported.  4951

@Kingwooddotcom: Are you aware of any hazard materials on the train that people should be aware of? 4951

@SmurfySuzi: There's no telling what's onboard, but they would have issued a warning if there was any danger. 4951

Thank you all. I am very glad to know that no one was injured and there should be no major environmental impact. 4951

@ET, people are too ignorant to allow this.  They protest those too.  SMDH

Yeah, the front of Kingwood for the rest of the day and evening will be an awful mess. Kingwood Dr will be gridlock and so will NP.  If you are coming in from work, just go on down to Ford Road.

@Fallon:

It's good that we now have a third road to completely back up with traffic. 4951
