..At least for now anyway.Per Councilman Dave Martin's Office: The $1.2 billion project proposed by David Development will not be moving forward as of now, and the land has been sold to New Caney ISD. Kings Creek was going to be the newest luxury area off the Eastex corridor, featuring condos, retail, dining, etc.. We have reached out to NCISD to ask what their plans are for the land, and will update if/when they respond. http://www.kingscreekdevelopment.com/about-us.html 4951

It appears that location is in Harris county.  Why would New Caney ISD buy land outside of its own district? 4951

@beadweaver:  Emoticonossibly, but I sure don't understand the logic.Added:  NCISD can't build a school outside of its district, and building administration facilities outside its district also seems unlikely.  It might be a good investment, but ISDs are not in the investment business.

@Retired_Engineer:
Everybody is in the investment business. Lol
All these new schools while the ones they have get run down. Strip malls lay empty.
I wonder where everyone gets so much time to make more babies while running their ever growing babies to all those schools.
Lol

Wouldn't that be around the mallard apts or across from Cracker Barrel? All of that is new Chaney ISD? Is Porter part of New Caney ISD? 4951

@Retired_Engineer: This made me curious as well. I left a couple voicemails, and hopefully they'll call back with some sort of answer.  I guess there is an outside possibility that the Councilman was incorrect?! I doubt it, but..Emoticon  4951

Don't the two first streets coming into NWH go to New Caney schools? I see buses there all of the time with the district. There limits go pretty far...or is this on the other side of the HS? 4951

I'm pretty sure that is NCISD over there. It's Montgomery County... I know both Sorters and McClellan are zoned for NC schools. Kings Manor is zoned to NCISD as well. 4951

I think it's funny that they included "Grand Texas" on their map. As if that place is ever going to be built. LOL.  4951

@sweetie: Yes.  If there was a school there, it would be in New Caney ISD.

I am not surprised they pulled the plug on this.  I think it was big ambitions however did not fit the demographics of the area. 4951

I never thought that project would get built. The architectural renderings showed a beautiful wooded buffer along the river but in reality there are those sand and gravel quarries with all the big truck traffic and that River Of God church. Now what about that Townparc Center that is supposed to be up front behind the fountains on the north side of KW Dr? Supposed to have been developed by Jefco Development Corp. but if you go to their website it isn't even listed there now. 4951
