Two local businesses helped a quadriplegic man get back on the road after a theft attempt rendered his van immobile. Ronnie Rubit has been paralyzed since1976, and uses a wheelchair van to get around to places Metro doesn’t go. Earlier this month KTRK ran a story about Rubit, and people responded in droves. One of the concerned viewers was Daniel Stone from Kenneth’s Care Care (Kingwood). He was touched by the story and wanted to help. Humble Towing graciously had one of their drivers go pick up Rubit’s van and deliver it to Kenneth’s at no cost. “We are part of a great community here, and helping him [Rubit] was the right thing to do. Kenneth’s offered to fix it, so we got it to them!” said Matt Teal, owner of Humble Towing. Rubit was more than grateful for the help, and also the extra care and attention to detail they put into his “baby”.
