Ok, you have a green light and you need to make a right turn.

The pedestrian walkway also has a "walk" light on the road you need to turn onto.

Please tell me you all know who has the right of way..because the woman who came within INCHES of running over my girlfriend and our dog surely didn't.

She seemed intoxicated, or possibly just that ignorant naturally..either way I almost watched two of God's most beautiful souls taken from me tonight.

Beware of this lady, she immediately became defensive and started cursing and yelling about how her light was green. I understand her light was green, but when turning right you ALWAYS yield to pedestrians ESPECIALLY when said pedestrians have a walk light active in favor of them.

End rant.

It's unbelieveable how many people are unaware of the WALK sign, all they see is the green light for them to turn right.
I've had so many cars turn right in front of me, I've started to take photos of them. I don't know if the cops will contact those people.

Even when I have the WALK sign & right of way, I'm still extra aware that a lot of people will ignore it. I stay out of their way. I'm not going to argue with thousands of lbs. of steel coming at me. 4951

In this case you had the right away. It's quite dangerous around here for pedestrians and cyclists!!! I'm not sure if it's ignorance or people just don't care!! I'm glad your friend and dog are ok!! 4951

Yep, the pedestrian has the right of way, but a pedestrian will never win in that fight. "I had the right of way" will not bring them back. It's good to always be aware there are douchbags on foot and behind the wheel. 4951

@BooBear:

Always a good idea to make eye contact with the driver so you can have an idea what the heck they are going to do. To step out into traffic just thinking you're right can be deadly around here (and most places). 4951

The fact that we had already initiated crossing after making sure no cars were turning, with our walk light and her lack of turn signal made it a very dangerous situation.

I agree a pedestrian will never win a physical encounter with a 2,000 plus pound car, she and I are typically very cautious because we are aware of the distracted and selfish drivers out here.

This happened at W.L.H. and Northpark crossing toward Kroger from Shell around 10:30pm

Thank you all for your input! We will definitely be even MORE careful from now on Emoticon don't know what I would do without our pups 4951

@ET: People hardly look at each other anymore, most of the time both people are staring at phone screens.

My 83 y.o. neighbor was hit when she was on her motorized 3 wheeler. Fortunately, she wasn't seriously injured. She did enjoy all the handsome firemen's attention tho! 4951
