I walked into the gym where they were having the dance and the kids were jumping and screaming to Taylor Swift Shake It Off. I thought I could stay and chaperone, but I walked right on out.
I don't know how I used to chaperone those things 13 yrs ago they say that you get more patient as you get older I call BS! They could get more parents to chaperone if they served complimentary wine lol shame on me. (of course with one parent being the DD)

PS: For all of the people in careers that require caring for: children, tweens, and teens you're amazing! 4951

@Champagnechola: It's a myth that you get more patient as you age!!! I'm old and can be outright cranky. The difference is we appear more patient because we just don't give a s*** and have learned to pick our battles 😜

Right.  The older you get you really start to care less.  After so many attempts to get things right you just give it up.  let the newcomers do it until they get frustrated too. 4951

Your headache must have been migraine status lol. I wonder if we saw each other. Im glad that the kids had fun though. My daughter was so excited that she didn't want to go to sleep last night.

As I get older, I don't get more patient.  But the back of my hands get more calloused, so it doesn't hurt (me) so much when I deal with children. 4951

@Champagnechola: I had a black and white designed shirt and my hair in a ponytail. I was inside in the beginning, then restroom duty then back inside until the end.  I was in the hall during pick up before they brought them all outside.

I don't think I saw you then, because I vividly remember the looks on the parent's faces that I saw lol. Well thank you for volunteering I do appreciate that. I will attempt to at some point. I think it's great for the kids to mingle as long as they are behaving. 4951

@Champagnechola: Work the hall blocking them from going back out.  This way you don't have to be inside.  Don't do the restroom.  You have to keep track because only 3 are allowed in at a time and the water fountain is in the middle.  That was a pain.  Being inside was super loud.  I like to be able to check on my kid but I think I would like to work the hallway the next time.

I will definitely remember that. I would be yelling at the kids to wash their hands. 4951
