I just ate four slices of bacon and a heaping of tater tots. After eating them I knew I should have stuck with the breakfast I brought (Raisin Brand Crunch). 4951

Hmmmm, I don't eat much but I do have cheese, pasta(g/f) and coffee pretty much every day.  I have been told I have to give up coffee but really don't want to.  DH does not want me to either. 4951

Coffee?

@megan.flanagan: One of the dangers involving coffee is that it contains acrylamide, a potentially cancer-causing agent that is formed from coffee beans roasted in high temperatures. The darker the coffee roast, the higher its acrylamide content is. Studies show that coffee is one of the major sources of this dangerous by-product of coffee bean preparation.

Yea I think unhealthy is a better term... maybe really unhealthy on some. But yogurt, cheese, coffee?? Sorry they got the coffee all wrong... coffee's a necessity, especially with dealing with rowdy children all day, if there's no afternoon coffee time it could get deadly 4951

I am addicted to diet cokes. I keep telling myself it can't be bad because it had zero Calories. I know that's wrong though. 4951

I think the key is to avoid highly processed foods which includes several but not all of what is on the list. For instance, by breakfast cereals I assume they mean highly processed ones that are a mainstay of the American diet and full of low quality carbs and food coloring. I would not include a hearty granola or Musili with those. Also cheese. Yes American Cheese and cheeses such as Velveta are bad but the Europeans have included cheeses in their diets going back to the Romans with positive benefits.  Deli meats like the prepackages stuff Oscar Meyer makes probably aren't too good for you but once again many cultures have been preserving meats like good Italian salumi.I only like the Greek style plain yogurt with no additives, the ones with HFCS are what to avoid. 4951
