Best of luck to them, and, just in case one of the ladies wins, that's cool too.

In all honesty, I just want to push the button and go. If it dies, tow it to the dealership, get another one and go.

The maintenance is not my territory. Yes, I am VERY sexist when it comes to yard care and car care. Too bad, just deal with it. I'm not changing. It's the man's job or I'm hiring it out. 4951

I could really use this one. My driver side door has lost power so I can't roll down any windows ( makes going through a drive- through difficult) or adjust my side mirrors. And I have to use an actual key to unlock my door. Talk about inconvenient! All the other doors work just fine. 4951

Guys perhaps.Men change their own oil.
@MTechnique: Although I really appreciate KDC's generosity in providing another great contest, I do believe this contest actually caters more to the women. Real men do change their own oil. There are, however, exceptions to this rule. The bottom of the Lotus is completely smooth and closed off with access panels. Looks like the bottom of a Hot Wheels car. Plus it has a 5 inch (plus or minus) ground clearance. I don't really want to jack up the entire car and climb under there taking off the access panel. It's a complete PIA. Plus, this car has a "passport". It's a small log book that the dealer stamps with their logo every time I take it in for service so all the history is logged. Under a situation like that, I don't mind taking it in for routine maintenance. 4951

I used to have the same mentality until after my divorce and I became a single mom... since then I've learned to change the oil in my car, mow and edge my lawn. My brother and dad however still for some reason prefer to do it themselves. Next thing I need to look into is how to fix one of my sprinkler heads. 4951

@lilmama09: Sprinkler heads are SUPER easy. I just fixed about 5 or 6 of them at my ex's house Sunday afternoon when I took my son back over there. Her system is all screwed up and will need extensive work. Need to add heads, move heads over and probably replace most of them with taller 6 inch heads. I told her if she buys all the parts I'd do the labor in the Spring when it's not so hot. And it would have to be during a weekend that I have my son so I'm not burning one of my free weekends working on her sprinklers. 4951

@WskyTngoFxtrt: That's good to know. I'm assuming they are just screwed on and off... I noticed one in my back yard was shooting the water straight up so I'm hoping it'll be easy solution of just replacing the sprinkler head.

@WskyTngoFxtrt: Changing the oil on an Elise is rather easy, really no harder than most any other car. Its Toyota Camry engine in a fancy fiberglass shell. The engine underpanel is removed in about a minute via removal of 13 8mm fasteners. Oil & filter change is straight forward from there. The easiest way for a casual DIY man to do the job would be a pair of ramps that you simply back up onto..... and you have all the room you need.I'm fairly certain my 5 series is lower than your Elise and much much more of a PITA to jack up. :-D

@lilmama09: You don't have to replace the whole head for that, just the nozzle on top. They sell them at Lowe's or Home Depot for a few bucks. I usually get adjustable ones that spray 360 and adjust it as wide as I need the spray. Pull up the inner nozzle and hold the shaft with your fist (TWSS). They are spring loaded so when you twist off the nozzle don't let go of the shaft or else it'll shoot back down into the head. Make sure to replace the light blue filter screen too. The left side of the water spray is fixed. So twist the shaft so that you have the left edge where you want it to spray. Then turn the ribbed portion of the nozzle until the water spray widens to where you want the right edge to stop. The flat head screw on top adjusts the spray intensity. Just ask me questions if you need help when you do it.  4951

@MTechnique: I was told it's a Celica engine block with Lotus external guts. Plus they check a boatload of stuff I don't have the equipment to check. And it's all dealer documented so I have the records when I go to sell it. 4951
