Hi all!!

I'm fairly new to Kingwood and am looking for a great housekeeper. I mean exceptional. I'm admittedly very picky. My mother cleaned houses for 20 years and I've managed multi-family housing and have had great vendors who've done their job well. So I have an eye and expectation for details. Baseboards, blinds, light fixtures, behind and under things, etc. Without trying to seem pretentious, I'm just hoping to find someone who will spend the time and attention to do what I would do but don't have time for. And communicate with me until we get it right.

My first experience, she stated she was highly experienced and detailed but brought her granddaughter on holiday to help and didn't follow through on details promised.

My in laws use a great girl. Unfortunately it's way too hard to get ahold of her and keep her consistent. Then found out she was offended I looked the place over when she was done.

Can anyone help? Who do you use? Do you love them and why?

I'd love reasonably priced but am willing to pay to find a great and trustworthy catch. I'd pay mom but she's in Florida! Haha.
Thanks!! 4951

Any chance you are friends with another housekeeping member here in the forum? The timing is just a bit coincidental. 4951

@donnatella:

Not at all. I saw the post I believe you are referencing when I was browsing earlier though and it reminded me I've been wanting to ask. This is completely unrelated and genuine. Besides, if I was friends with the housekeeping member, I wouldn't be seeking the referral. 😉 4951

Make sure you pick someone with several personal references, preferably bonded. You should get several first-hand recommendation here. Since it is your home, watch out for any who are pushy or resort to dishonest tactics to get business. 4951

DIY- just sayin... I'm way pickier than what you are saying so I just do it myself. If you have THAT much time to critique your hired help AND then post here then you have time to DIY 4951

@Jpgurl:

Five minutes to post here and less than 10 to do a walk through after a clean is equivalent to a detailed house clean. Makes sense. Sounds like I need to hire you! Are you available? 😉 4951

@OneHappyMrs: TRUST me you can't afford me- by the way it's "hard to contact" NOT "get ahold of"

I can't believe your housekeeper would be upset about you looking at what she did. I appreciate my "love notes " from my clients. I am a woman doing another woman's work to help her out. Maids should always look at it like that. I always tell them to let me know if things were not done as they like. Everyone is different. But also keep in mind if you have a counter full of appliances that makes it hard for us Most of my clients will clear off even the bathroom counters so the entire thing gets cleaned.

Also we don't have the muscle or time to pull out furniture. I'm getting too old to pull out a stove or fridge. 4951
