@FoFa: Â We had planes that wide in the 60s? Â The first time I flew was in 1976.
@Retired_Engineer: I was 8 and in second grade.
@donnatella: Â Yeah, yeah. Â You're younger than me! Â
I was still in college and a company invited me for a plant tour (and a job offer).
@Retired_Engineer: I was not around until the early 70s, but that must have been cool. Remember how exciting going somewhere on an airplane was? I really miss that.Â
@ForeCPA90: Â I miss that as well. Â My wife and I flew all over the country on plant visits between 1976-1978. Â Back then, people took flying seriously, as something special, and with a sense of adventure. Â Once I went to work, I flew once or twice each year. Â People even dressed up for flying back then.When I was transferred here in 1993, I flew somewhere almost every week. Â That took most of the sense of adventure away.
@Retired_Engineer: Same here, I got to fly all over the place when I was young, my dad worked in the oil business so we lived over seas, and got at least one trip to the US a year, always loved it. Then I got into the working world, and was a road warrior up until last year. 2 to 4 flights a week has made it more like taking the bus. I still would say that I enjoy parts of it even now, but its not the same.
