@FoFa:  We had planes that wide in the 60s?  The first time I flew was in 1976. 4951

@Retired_Engineer: I was not around until the early 70s, but that must have been cool.  Remember how exciting going somewhere on an airplane was?  I really miss that.

@ForeCPA90:  I miss that as well.  My wife and I flew all over the country on plant visits between 1976-1978.  Back then, people took flying seriously, as something special, and with a sense of adventure.  Once I went to work, I flew once or twice each year.  People even dressed up for flying back then. When I was transferred here in 1993, I flew somewhere almost every week.  That took most of the sense of adventure away.

@ET: Or a Saudi Prince. You are correct though, this is a mock up from Boeing in the 1960s prior to when the 747 entered service.  Here is what it was really like.

@Retired_Engineer: Same here, I got to fly all over the place when I was young, my dad worked in the oil business so we lived over seas, and got at least one trip to the US a year, always loved it.  Then I got into the working world, and was a road warrior up until last year.  2 to 4 flights a week has made it more like taking the bus.  I still would say that I enjoy parts of it even now, but its not the same.

I've been in a 747 before, and the center wall was large screen projector. Showed one film per flight. 4951
