I used to only wear Nike but discovered (now that I'm preggo) Asics is MUCH better for long distance. My feet and calves no longer hurt wearing Asics. ..but it all depends on the person .. everyone's feet are different .. I have a high arch 4951

I've heard nothing but good things about Asics from friends who are runners. (I can't vouch myself since I'm not a runner though... I hate to run) Emoticon 4951

Go over to Luke's Locker in The Woodlands and ask for Ray. He's my shoe pimp. Seriously he will fit you up in the correct shoe for you . Shoes are pricey but I promise that you will be in the right shoe to start your adventure. Me - I'm in Missuno Wave runners- hubby is in Brooks and Hookus ( sp??). He was a running coach and knows his stuff and easy to talk to. I only deal with Ray- I even call to see when he's working and I've waited in the store for 45 minutes JUST for him- and I'm not one to wait! 4951

sorry about the multi post. It's an issue that sometimes happens when your signal stinks from mobile.  4951

@Ashley87: Nothing but Asics for my feet.  Best I have found by far; go for Gel Cumulus 15 or 19, and good quality socks.  I put about 25 miles a week or so on my mine and go through about two to three pairs a year.

@DrekonixShopping at Cavender's is out of the question then; unless you come across a hot girl jogging in cowboy boots! 4951
