>> We had lots of difficulty in closing on our house on time. We had made all the arrangements to move in on our scheduled closing date, 2 years ago today. We were also getting married that same day. The realtor explained our situation to the seller and they allowed us to move in on a buyer's lease. I don't know if that's an option here, but it's worth looking into.
@Mahm: Sorry to hear you went through a hassle. There's so much stress involved...getting married & buying a new home. We'd be very willing to do a buyer's lease but she can't buy anything else until she gets her $$ at closing. She has 8 dogs and at least one cat, so she's very limited in her options. One adult son lives with her now and I suspect he's not much help. Hopefully she'll be able to move in with her son in Dallas. She's gotta do something! She put her houes on the market and we wonder just what she was thinking.
@Love2Run: Yeah, some people just don't think things through. My mom was just talking about several of her friends who are widows learning things the hard way about taking everything out of their late husbands' names. Of course, I'm sure there is a lot of stress and lack of mental clarity while grieving too.
