So, my hubb hit up the HEB yesterday to score the boys some "treats"........And since we're now completely feeding our boys a "raw" diet, their treats are usually some type of bones........So, for treats yesterday they got a package of chicken wings...  ...Yeppers.....  Just like the kind you get for "wing wings".........Anywho, just a few minutes ago, I got the next package out and it was Chicken Feet!....That's right, peeps...  Chicken Feet...  I kid you not.......I opened the package and almost instantaneously felt sorta faint....I called up my hubb on his celly-telly and informed him that chicken feet "Look like real feet....  ....With finger nails...."...He so kindly replied that they are "Real chicken feet... With toe nails and all, since they are chicken FEET"..........The boys thoroughly enjoyed them, but I had to use double folded paper towels as not to actually touch one........I'm not hungry anymore....   4951

@herron1345: Chicken bones are extremely dangerous for dogs.

@WskyTngoFxtrt:
I thinkn its just when they are cooked because they will splinter. Raw is fine.

@WskyTngoFxtrt@BooBear 's right on point.......Our Vet actually recommended RAW chicken and turkey bones, as well as their feet, wings, etc etc as treats and snacks.......It's very good for their teeth and digestive tracts........We feed both of our boys a totally RAW diet, with no dry or kibble due to my  sweet, big handsome Gunny's allergies and sensitivities....     4951

our vet here in Kentucky says no bones of any kind for our poodles , it is not good for the digestive track or stomach . My dogs eat chicken , beef , green beans , lettuce with blu-cheese dressing  all without bones . They do get pig ears as a treat sometimes. 4951

@WJo....I wonder if your vet there in Kentucky recommended "no bones" because of the Poodle breed specifics and size........Our vet here basically suggested the "Raw" diet because of our English Mastiff's history of battling different food allergies and continual yeast infections........And she's very blunt about not giving dogs fruits, veggies, dairy, sugar, etc etc due to their digestive tracks.......She said that dogs are carnivores and would typically NOT eat foods (or preservatives) that we see found in most kibble or shelf wet foods, and the "Raw" diet is basically trying to mimic what their natural wilderness eating habits would be...  Except they can also have white rice and whole boiled eggs (with the shell)... 4951

our poodles are small & when we 1st got them we tried them on the "raw diet" , they would puke after eating the raw meats , so we asked our vet what we should do , we were told to start them out on cooked chicken & rice .....they loved it ! And it stayed down , so we added cooked beef in small quanities  along with some diced potatoes (cooked) that also agreed with them . Our poodles were introduced to green beans & loved them . They are  the perfect weight for their size & in perfect health . So our vet said we are doing everything RIGHT. We have had our poodles  for 14 years  & they are very healthy & happy. 4951
