Don't know if this is true or not, but heard that they are clearing the lots on Mills Branch Road next to the new development for a Shell gas station.  Personally, I hope this is not the case.  Can you imagine living near that station with all of the lights on at the station 24/7?  If this is true, we need to get this stopped.  I feel for the people who would live next to that.  That is a pretty quiet area, and would definitely increase traffic near the Shadow Forest Elementary school. 4951

Where did you hear this? I just noticed all the trees were gone near the new development. I just saw it from a distance. 4951

Do they open "dry" gas stations? I seriously think they would have issues selling beer and wine so close to the school 4951

Besides, the homes they are building will probably be in the 300's or more. Can't imagine anyone buying a house there knowing a gas station is being built. 4951

Homes being built next to that are 300s-low 400s. Very very frustrating. I don't know if there is anything we can do because of the COH zoning (non existent) laws. 4951

Oh and I heard Exxon, not Shell, but same difference. Still an annoying gas station. 4951

I heard it from someone associated with the neighborhood being built next door. 4951

I'm pretty sure I read that area is for a retention pond and an access road. 4951

I would take a retention pond over an Exxon any day. But then again, who knows what's going to happen on that road. It's kind a free-for-all 4951

I heard this from a friend whose husband works for Exxon and his carpool buddy lives in the house across the street from these lots.  The house with the white gates.  I don't know how he found out unless he talked to the people clearing the lots.  4951

I've also heard it's going to be a gas station.  Too bad that new neighborhood didn't keep some of the trees to maybe be a buffer between the houses and whatever is going in now. 4951

They better not put a trashy gas station there! The people who live across the street have a sign up. I would be upset too. 4951

@jls2: After reading all the responses, this is all I can think of:From my father's brother's nephew's cousin's former roommate.

@Ashley87:

I just saw that sign - like a sign of protest. I couldn't read it all but I think I read "stop the prime; no gas is needed here" 4951
