Around May of 2015 Grand Texas is expected to introduce their "Destination Fields" comprised of numerous amateur sports fields. They plan to have five fully lighted softball fields, four soccer fields and several mixed use practice fields. The park was set back slightly while waiting on approval from MUD to get infrastructure for the park in place.Phase one construction is also scheduled to include restaurants, entertainment, theme park, and water park which have tentative opening dates for spring of 2016. This information was sourced from The Kingwood Observer:http://www.yourhoustonnews.com/kingwood/news/grand-texas-sports-and-entertainment-district-plans-to-open-first/article_15d79508-5c2b-5569-8ae3-fe007be78fec.htmlTowards the end of the article this sentence appears, "The lenders for Grand Texas Theme Park want to see more substance and
development in the area before they are willing to lend more into the
project."So I'm wondering if this means the Theme Park and Water park have already been financed by investors or if only the Sports Complex is fully financed. What are your thoughts on Grand Texas? 4951

From what I understand there are another seven subdivisions that are going to be built from Porter north.  I wonder what it is they are looking for? 4951

Not thrilled about the whole thing. More development, more traffic, more crime. 4951

Hello out there, I live in Georgia now but my family and I are planning to move back to the Houston area next summer, and we were ecstatic to find Kingwood, Texas, I researched the area, schools, crime, traffic, and we loved the idea of living there but THEN I saw this online about the Grand Texas park soon to be AND I am now concerned about moving to Kingwood.  I just need some opinions on this project, is anyone else concerned about the negative impact this will bring to the community... property taxes, crime, traffic, education OR am I just over thinking this?Your thoughts are appreciated.
