Local honey just doesn't work.  Not if you have real allergies.  For the pollen count we have here, you have to use real medicine.  I tried the local honey thing for 6 months.  Not a bit of difference.   My allergist said there just isn't any proof it works.I wish it did.  I wish anything worked.  The over the counter stuff works, but not great all the time.  What I would give for a natural cure that did actually work.

@Fallon: Same here! I"m tired of taking meds! Not only are they costly but they can't be all that good for you. I was really hoping eating honey was the solution Emoticon Anyway, thank you for sharing.

It doesn't keep you from getting sick but if you are sick here is recipe that will help you feel better much much faster!  My wife makes it anytime we are sick and it does work. Squeeze a fresh whole lemon in to a coffee mug.  Take out the seeds (did I really have to say that&gtEmoticonPut in two uncoated aspirin in to the cupPut a TBSpoon of honey (really put more)Poor hot water on it all and stir.  Now enjoy and feel better.  Repeat several times a day. 4951

The A-1 Cleaners on KW Drive - next door to the Master's Tailors & in the same center as Chelsea's Deli....she sells local honey from a local beekeeper. The honey is delicious and it's very reasonably priced.  4951

I bought a local one but the kids and husband hated it, said they could actually taste the flowers/pollen in the honey.  I think I would much rather just suck it up and wait it out.   4951

@newkwmom:

Like @Fallon said, you are best treating with medication but no harm with honey a supplement. I don't think honey alone will solve it. Plus, you need to build up a resistance before the full outcrop of pollen.

Shower at night so you don't bring the pollen into the bed. Wash hair too. Dirty clothes don't come into the bedroom. 4951
