....So, yesterday when my beautiful hubbs and I was doing the grocery detail at the HEB, he scored some of the HEB Mild Salsa in the Fresh Produce section, as their Salsa is in fact labeled, Fresh Produce.......We also scooped up some Thin Tortilla Chips to grub down on with the Salsa.......Anywho, my hubb just brought out the snack 'ems, and to both of our delights, the Salsa is quite YUMMO.........I mean, it's really good, dudes......He opted for the Mild version, and it's not that spicy at all........However, for those of my home-skillets that like some straight heat, they did have an option for a Hot variant....   ...So, for all of my Salsa lovin' peeps, the HEB Fresh Produce Mild Salsa is a definite go..... ...Well done, HEB...  Well done.... 4951

I would go for the mild. I'm a wimp when it comes to spice. But I'm having blackened salmon tonight. When I had it a few weeks ago it was quite tasteful. 4951

HEB has wonderful fresh salsa. Their Pico in the produce section is incredible, too! Unfortunately, that is fresh with no preservatives, so it only lasts a couple of days. 4951

thanks but I'll pass, I haven't shopped at HEB since they announced that my friends elderly mother lost her apartment.  I refuse to step inside again! 4951

@donnatella:  I prefer to make my own Pico de Gallo but I agree, for a no fuss option.. H.E.B.brand is hard to beat.

Angie.. how is that H.E.B.s fault? Didn't they just buy property that was for sale? I heard that the apartments needed extensive repairs and the owner opted to sell the property rather than renovate. What have you heard about it? 4951

The land east of the apartments had been for sale for years. All the way down to the red light. Heb is building a new store where the apartments are now. We don't need anymore shopping here. We don't need to loose anymore trees nor do we need more traffic in an already dangerous intersection.

Maybe it's just me but I moved here for the country setting. The good schools. Not the shopping. We now have emergency clinics Starbucks and nail salons on every major intersection. In the last 18 years I have watched us turn into the livible concrete instead of the forest we love. 4951

Angie... I never paid much attention to the what, when, where or why of the sale of that piece of property and I agree with you about not needing more shopping but whether H.E.B. buys it or someone else, those apartments were going to be demolished anyway. That property is too valuable in that area to not be used for commercial purpose. We don't need anymore strip centers or Starbucks but if H.E.B. wants to build a store there like the one in Summerwood.. wouldn't that be better than having dilapidated apartments there? One of the worst problems that a community can have is run down apartments that the owner can't sell and the cost to have them demolished is prohibitive.  P.S.  Hug a ferret for me. ;-) 4951

OK Angie.. as soon as they open the new H.E.B. store, I will use my inside connections to persuade them to have a weekly Baby Ferret day at H.E.B.  That will get ya' to go!                                         How does Baby Ferret Tuesdays sound to ya'?
