If you are the owner of this pickup truck, you have been reported to the elections board and the police department for defacing the "Early Voting Here" signs on West Lake Houston. You, sir, suck. Also, I'm particularly insulted that you have "We the People" on your tailgate when you have no clue what being a citizen of this country means.  You may not like that some voters might not have mastered reading in English, but that's YOUR problem.  If they are citizens and have properly registered to vote and can provide the legal ID, then that is their RIGHT.  I wish it had occurred to me faster what you were doing with that can of spray paint.  A photo of you in the act of spraying over all the foreign language parts of the sign would have been better.  But your license plate will have to do.You, sir, are embarassment to decent Texans with that "Come & Take It" flag.  I hope your friends & family see this and let you know what a loser you are. 4951

Well said dude! It would have been better if you were able to get that picture of him to give to the authorities. Either way, you did great by reporting the POS. Emoticon 4951

There are ways of changing laws you do not agree with.Spray paint is not one of those ways. You may not like that ballots are provided in languages other than english.  That's fine.  But until the law is changed, those folks, as long as they are legal citizens with valid ID who registered by the deadline, have a legal right to vote.  I would argue that they have just as much obligation to vote as everyone else.   4951

I don't discriminate. I believe people of all cultures should have the right to come to our country legally and through the proper channels.

That said, it is my understanding that in order to become a legal citizen and a registered voter, one must pass a citizenship test in English. Therefore you should be able to read a sign that says "early voting" in English, if you are, in fact, a registered voter.

That said, I don't agree with vandalism. One should go through proper channels to have the signs changed. 4951

to become a citizen, you don't need to be literate in english. that means that for the country as a whole, those who are not wellversed in english or able to fully comprehend written english, we are better off if they are able to read a ballot in a language that allows them to comprehend the ballot measures. we do want informed voters in spite of all the ********laden ads for and against politicians and ballot measures. 4951

Who decides what bilingual means?  Lots of Vietnamese, Mandarin, Farsi, Polish, Italian speakers here in this amazing multi-cultural city.  Hell, we should make every sign, ATM, and phone system into a Rosetta stone.(or everyone could learn and use a common language which is essential to the stability of a nation over time) 4951
