My daughter's doctor wants to put her on a specific med. It can be generic. I went to fill the script and insurance does not cover the Generic version. They will only cover the brand name if the dr puts Brand Name necessary on the the script. But brand name isn't necessary. They would rather pay over 2000.00on a brand name than a couple hundred on generic. I just don't get the logic. 4951

That sounds fishy...Maybe your pharmacy is staffed by numb-nuts. Some of the Walgreens around here are bad about insurance stuff. I will never go to the one on KW drive again. Maybe paying out of pocket for the generic costs less than a generic throug your insurance. I have had that happen too. 4951

I may be wrong, but I think doctors make money from prescribing certain drugs. 4951

well i will be glad to trade you insurance companies...lol...mine is $5 generics but the medicine I am on the generic makes me sick (which it has been known to) so I am stuck paying $67 for a brand name that costs $85 without insurance...you might try walmart or CVS and see what they say. good luck!!! 4951

We only go to CVS. Walmart is horrible and never has her meds. I have the same issue with Walgreens that Topcat has. They never run my insurance through. We pay out of pocket for some of her meds already, might have to do it with this one also. 4951

I also use krogers pharmacy, I hate Walgreen the staff are beyond incompetent, I have never gone there ad had them fill the prescription correctly, they would always give me a completely different medication and I would have to argue with the idiots that its not my medicine. They can seriously hurt someone this way, like if the person does not check the bottle and just takes the pills and it ends up being something they cant have. 4951

CVS took pity on me today and gave me a 3 day supply while insurance figures everything out. I have to go back tomorrow though b/c one of the guys forgot to put my refill in the system. 4951
