A restaurant in Beijing China was caught using customer's uneaten food on the plate of other guests, lets hope this practice stays in China. 4951

I bet this happens all the time at mexican restaurants. You think they will just throw away all those uneaten chips? 4951

That has been happening at a particular Chinese buffet in Atascocita for a long time. Several people reported first hand accounts of watching staff "returning" uneaten seafood to the buffet while clearing tables. It was all over ADC about a year or two. 4951

@BooBear: Now that's a good idea!! My problem is that when we go out to eat Mexican food, we don't have very much left!!!

Didn't this happen at the Mexican place by TX Roadhouse not to long ago?  Someone sent the food back and it was then delivered to another table close by. 4951

It happens here more than you'd like to think.  You only hear about it when the health inspector catches them. 4951

And I really don't want to know. I hate to cook and I have enough issues with food to begin with. If I knew all of the horrible things that went on I would just stop eating and die. 4951

@BooBear:  Yeah, we REALLY don't want to know what goes on in some kitchens!

@Retired_Engineer: True, as somebody that eats out more (a lot more most weeks) than he does at home, I had to quit watching (although I liked it) Kitchen Nightmare's where Chef Ramsay exposes a lot of gross stuff that goes on in them, just gross!

I know we find it gross and disgusting.  I don't want to eat leftovers off someone else's plate either.  But is there an argument here about 'Murica! and how much we waste?  I'm sure I'm guilty of throwing away both food and merchandise that others could really benefit from.So I ask...is it out of the norm for that culture or just out of the norm for us? 4951

The only place, besides Chinese buffets, that I know without a doubt I would NEVER eat is the country club in Waldon. I had to go there once..it was disgusting. There was grease caked on the floor and walls and it smelled like fried chicken skin. The walk in cooler had food stacked open on the floor. 4951
