Back in July they found I have a huge tumor and an ulcer in my tummy.  Dr's put me on double doses of Pantoprazole I take 80 mg a day.  Over the last few weeks I have notices all my joints are hurting. My hips the worse.  Almost to where I can't walk.  I read some of the side effects, one is joint issues.  I am taking daily vitamins and increased my intake of B12 and magnesium.  My question is.. is this normal?  Should I be worried?  Not even hot bathes or advil are helping. 4951

you are probably losing calcium which is common with that med.Get a bone density done as a baseline and start to take some calcium.I take 40mg 3 times a day usually plus tums, we tried to change me to another med but the side effects of that were worse.  I can take extra calcium to mitigate this one.

@Stealth83:

Don't forget vitamin D, which helps with the absorption of the calcium. 4951

I take the 50+ for women vitamins.  Which is supposed to have D and calcium.  I drink whole milk.  I dont think I need too much more calcium Its just buggin me.  I have never really taking meds cept for my migraines so I am not used to things with side effects. 4951
