London is a Border Collie and
Lab mix. Absolutely sweet natured!. She rarely barks and loves being outside.
She loves kids and people but doesn't like loud noises. We adopted her to be a
friend to our "Cujo" They were the best of buddies but 3 weeks ago, Cujo was hit
by a car. We have since had to move  to an apartment and London no
longer has her friend or back yard. My hope is to find someone who will love her
as much as we do. She follows commands and will obey without a leash. She is not
fixed. .  If you know of someone who would be wonderful to our family member, please let us know or contact us-  Thanks you 4951

Someone who will love her as much as you do? If that were the case you wouldn't be dumping her in the first place. Sorry, but the no yard excuse is a sorry one. I've moved with my Doberman, Siberian husky, AND German shepherd 6 times in apartments. Never had a yard. Surely you can manage one dog. A couple walks a day, dog park trips, take your dog out on a long line to run in non-off leash areas. There are plenty of ways to exercise your dog and kept her happy. Dogs don't care about the size of your place, they just want to be wherever their family is. If you truly think your dog would do better with another family then please do a vet reference check and a home visit on any potential interests.

Oh yeah, the responsible thing to do would be to spay her prior to re-homing. I've seen some sad cases of dogs suffering with pyometra due to never being spayed, it also decreases the chance of cancer and ensures that she will never be bred and will just be loved as a family pet Emoticon 4951

Before you pass judgement and voice your nasty opinion, there are a few things you need to understand.  London was my son's dog and he has recently moved back to Montana.  I down sized from a 3 bed room house (1 acre lot) to a one bedroom apt.  Furthermore, I am a safety manager that oversees 9  sites over the state of Texas and  am rarely home.  I refuse to put her in the pound and I do not want to ruin her spirit.

London is current on her shots and is also insured thru Pet Smart for a year.  I will offer to have her spayed as well as pay the insurance to a serious family.  I have no intention of just giving her away.  I was doing what I thought was best for London .  For you to say I am "dumping " her was offensive.
I am responsible and I am heartbroken that i can't take her with me on the road. She is such a wonderful dog. I hope in the future, you will rethink your comments before putting them out to air on a public forum.  If you are so concerned with my irresponsibility  to take care of her or my selfish wants to "dump" her,  MAYBE YOU SHOULD TAKE HER! Everyone, focus on the dog here...dog needs rehoming..
Jayden, Xjam is a younfgrescuer who rescues a  lot dogs fo 2 or 3 rescue groups, believe me..she is doing more than her share.  She may have been harsh, but let's focus not on why London needs a home, BUT HOW TO DO GET HIM ONE! 4951

You should have said that your son dumped a dog on you and you don't have adequate time for her so you need to re-home. The way you worded it sounded like you were easily giving up on a family pet. That's why I suggested different ways to exercise her from my experience of living without a yard.

If you can foster, you'll find a rescue easily, if not, please properly screen any potential interests. There are some whackos out there. 4951

Sounds like you care about where the dog is placed.   Retain the rights to visit and check up. 4951

When I adopt a dog, I have made a commitment to care for it their entire life. Maybe some people feel their pets are "just animals", but I feel they are a part of my family. There are other options, perhaps find a reasonable petsitter or someone who does petsitting out of their house. I am a flight attendant with severals dogs, when I fly, I have to go to Chicago where I am based. I have 2 friends who help me with my dogs.

Also, not all dogs need a yard. Mine just go out to potty, they are all couch potatoes except my male dog, he is an obnoxious mess, lol. Anyway, hope it works out for you. 4951

everybody just needs to remember that not everyone says things the same way. This person probably just said it wrong, I know sometimes I say things and it comes out a little abrasive when I meant it totally different.  Everybody here wants the same thing for the poor furbaby to have a good home. It appears you are doing your best and as sad as it is no one can fault you not everything goes as we would like it too. 4951
