Two teenagers from Montgomery and Liberty counties have died, and a third is in critical condition. Health experts said all three shared similar symptoms. Now they are working together to figure out what is behind it all.

I believe the story is also referring to local Kingwood teen, Katie as well, even though they did not mention her by name.

It is about what happened to Katie too....she is the young girl they were referring to in the story. The first kid that died was from Dayton, then Katie, and now another teenager from New Caney is in critical condition at the hospital with similar symptoms.
They did also say that they were tested for Menengitis as well as Rabies, and both were negative for those.
It is quite sad about these young lives!!

This actually happened to another NC student a few years ago who was an Eagle baseball player.

Something is flying around here that is causing this stuff. They'd better nip it in the bud soon.

One of my neighbors told me about a woman she works with at the Krogers that her 9yr old grand daughter died and it sound like she may have had these same symptoms. They better figure it out quick before this spreads!

It happened to an employees son here at work.  They founded the GrantAStarr foundation, I can't help but wonder if the illnesses are related.

@Zephard:

Cold/ flu symptoms that turn into Pneumonia and seizures within a week. I can't help but wonder if it is a weird side effect from a medication or combination of medications.

I hope they figure it out soon. It would give the families some closure to know what exactly happened.

@vlabroski O.M.G. That sounds exactly the same. I am TERRIFIED now that my kids will get sick. I wonder how many others there are?  SOMEONE is keeping track of this somewhere. I want more info.

@KellyG I think it's strange that in the case of the 2 teens (may God rest thier souls and bless thier families) that one had Strep which is bacterial, and the other had Mono which is viral.  If my kids get any kind of cold I'm going to FREAK OUT!!
