LSC-Kingwood will be the site of a used electronics drive Nov. 11-20, 2014.
The college will be
collecting old and broken computers, computer parts and peripherals
including monitors, printers/scanners, keyboards, mice, and speakers,
televisions, phones, cell phones, radios, fax machines, microwaves and
related devices.
“Recycling these no longer used devices ensures
that they are reused or responsibility recycled and that harmful
contents such as mercury and lead are not introduced into the
environment,” said Margaretha Johnson, professor of computer information
technology.
The collection will be held behind the Performing
Arts Center (PAC) on Royston Drive on Tuesday and Thursdays beginning
Nov. 11 from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m. and on Saturday, Nov. 15 from 11 a.m. to 1
p.m.
For more information on the used electronics drive, contact Professor Johnson at 281-312-1603.
