Well its that time again to put in my 50 million different eye drops and put my goggles on to go to bed. Has anyone else had lasik? Any recommendations during the healing process? They say no makeup for a week but then say no rubbing your eyes for 6 months. But if i wear makeup I have to rub my eyes to get it off so its like a catch 22. I had it Saturday and Im afraid of getting water in my eyes when I shower. Is that ok? 4951

forget makeup for the six weeks they heal. your vanity will heal faster than your eyes will heal if they get irritation or infection from makeup and rubbing. showers are fine but just don't get soap in your eyes 4951

I had mine done in 99, and still don't need glasses (other than reading glasses).I could not rub my eyes for 3 months. That is truly the hardest part of the whole process in my opinion. You don't want to shift the cornea flap for sure. Then again, I only had to wear the goggles the first night. You will love it, trust me, it is so worth it. 4951

hubby had it done & both eyes had problems because of the shape of his eyes , he got detached retina's in both eyes & had to have emergency surgery on both eyes . He has 20/20 in his right eye  but in his left eye is has 40/50 so not good ...he said if he had it to do all over again he would still be wearing his old glasses . As it is he has to wear glasses for the left eye , so it did not accomplish what he was hoping it would . Hope you have better luck than he did. 4951

I had Lasik done in 2011.  I am so happy I did it! I did not wear eye makeup for a month.  When I did I put some eyeshadow on and no eye liner.  I did use regular mascara, not waterproof, so it would be easier to remove.  I got the OcuSoft wipes to help take off the makeup.  Just be gentle.  I wore the cup thing for a month on my eyes because I was afraid I would get hit in the eye by my dh.  I was very careful about showering I would tilt my head backwards to wash and shield my eyes with my hands. 4951
